Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

 Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you’re an occasional traveler or a seasoned road warrior, if you’ve never stayed at a Bed and Breakfast before, you probably have questions about your stay. And because every B&B is different, you also probably have questions about staying at the Louisville Bourbon Inn. Good News: We have answers!

Below we’ve listed answers to the most common questions we get from guests, either before or during their stay. We grouped them into a couple of categories, such as Reservations, Logistics and Staying at the Inn. We hope this list of answers will match well to your list of questions!

If you have questions specific to the all-inclusive Bourbon Trail Tour packages, those questions and answers are located with the description of our Bourbon Trail Tour offering or on their own page here.

If there’s a question we haven’t answered, please call us, email us or send a message through the website and we’ll get you an answer soon.

1) Staying at the Inn

Is there Free Parking Available?

Yes! There is free street parking on Park Avenue, adjacent to the Inn.

Do we need to dress up for breakfast?

No, you can roll out of bed and come downstairs! We love it when our guests show up in one of our comfy bathrobes to eat! We do suggest that you pack slippers or house shoes, as most of the Inn has hardwood floors.

Do you have a hair dryer and other toiletries in the room?

Each room has a hair dryer and a clothes steamer. If you want an iron, let us know and we’ll have one in your room when you arrive.

In your private bathroom, you will have soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, bath  gel, cotton swabs and pads and really comfy bathrobes!

Does the Inn have an elevator?

No, we do not have an elevator. Fortunately, the staircase is gentle in slope!

In the Mansion, there are two rooms on the second floor (Grand Derby and Mint Julep) , and three rooms on the third floor (Old Fashioned, Manhattan, and Kentucky Sunrise). There are 49 steps between the first floor and the third floor, so we suggest you bring two smaller bags instead of one large bag if you can.

In the Carriage House, the Bourbon Fizz Suite is on the first floor, and it’s the best option for someone who has trouble with stairs. There are two suites on the second floor (Hot Toddy and Kentucky Classic), but it’s a much smaller staircase than in the Mansion.

If you will need help with your luggage, please note this in the “Special Accommodations” section when you book your suite.

Will I Have My Own Bathroom?

Yes.

Every suite at the Louisville Bourbon Inn has a private bathroom. Some suites have jetted or whirlpool tubs, some have step-in showers, and others have both.

Can I come and go whenever I want?

Yes.

To get into the Mansion, make sure you get the code for the side door lock.  If you’re coming and going late at night, please keep the noise level to a minimum as a courtesy to the other guests.

What time is breakfast served?

We typically begin serving breakfast at 8:30 am. If you need to eat earlier (7:00 – 8:30) because you have a Bourbon Tour, an early flight, or you need to get on the road, we will arrange for an earlier breakfast. If you need to eat super-early (before 7 am) we will put together a “Grab and Go” breakfast for you to take on the run!

Do the rooms have refrigerators?

No, we don’t have refrigerators in the rooms. But we can make space in one of the refrigerators in the Carriage House or the Mansion kitchen if you need to store something in the fridge.

Do you have ice?

Yes. We have an ice maker that’s located in the Coffee Pantry on the first floor of the Mansion. Let us know if you need an ice bucket and we’ll deliver one to you.

2) Reservations

Is Breakfast Included in the Room Rate?

Yes. The room rate includes a gourmet breakfast each morning.

What Forms of Payment Do You Accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, such as Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover.

Do You Charge a Deposit?

Yes.

When you confirm your reservation, we automatically charge your credit card for one-half of the estimated room charge for your stay, or the full estimated amount for a one-night stay. We charge your card for the remainder when you check out. This and our other guest policies are described in detail on our website.

What is Your Cancellation Policy?

Our Guest Policies section on the website has a detailed description of our cancellation policy and other policies relevant to your stay with us.

Are Pets Allowed?

No.

We’re sorry, but pets are not allowed at the Louisville Bourbon Inn.

Is Smoking Allowed?

Smoking is permitted outdoors only in specially designated areas.

Smoking is prohibited indoors throughout the entire property, and there is a fee if you violate this policy.

Do You Have Early or Late Check-In and Check-Out?

We like to greet every guest in person when you arrive at the Louisville Bourbon Inn, so we ask that you give us an approximate arrival time.

Most of our guests arrive between 3 pm and 7 pm. If you’re arriving later than 7pm, please let us know so we can plan to be available when you arrive. If you’re arriving before 3 pm and nobody stayed in your suite the night before, we can check you in and give you the keys. If the room was occupied the night before, you can drop off your bags and come back later for the keys after we’ve had time to get the suite ready for your stay.

Late check-outs are the hardest to accommodate because we usually need to get the room ready for the next guest.

Can you arrange for roses, champagne or something similar to be in the room when we arrive?

Yes.

You can choose one of our special packages when you book your room. If you’d like something that’s not included in one of the packages, call us and we’ll try to arrange for it.

Is Your Bed and Breakfast Near the Kentucky Bourbon Trail?

The Louisville Bourbon Inn is the perfect bed and breakfast for your bourbon trail tour. We’re the only bourbon bed and breakfast in Louisville, which is a convenient “home base” for any Bourbon Trail tour. Several bourbon distilleries are less than 10 minutes from the hotel, and most other distilleries are close enough to be visited in a day trip. If you would like to go on an all-day, all-inclusive bourbon trail tour that visits several distilleries and provides transportation, admission, and meals, choose our Bourbon Trail Tour package when you reserve your suite.

Do You Arrange Bourbon Trail Tours?

Yes!

We have partnered with a tour company to provide an all-day Kentucky Bourbon Tour experience that our guests love! The best part is we do all the work, and all you have to do is show up! Browse more information on the website.

We also offer a Ghost tour and architectural tour of Old Louisville with our Special Packages.

Do You Have Bourbon Trail Elopement or Bourbon Trail Wedding Packages?

Yes!

We offer elopement packages as well as romantic wedding packages for small groups up to about 30 people. If you would like your elopement celebration or your wedding ceremony to have a Bourbon Trail theme, we’re the best bourbon trail B&B to help you make that happen. We have some basic information on our website about our elopement packages and wedding packages, but since the price varies significantly based on what you want for your special day (e.g., bourbon trail wedding or bourbon trail elopement), it’s best to give us a call and talk through what you’re envisioning so we can give you an idea of how much it might cost. Our phone number is (502) 813-1137.
