Kentucky Shakespeare Festival at Central Park
66th Annual Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Central Park
Adjacent to the hotel is Louisville’s Central Park, which was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the designer of New York’s Central Park. Central Park has walking paths, public tennis courts, a public playground for children, a Spray Pad, the Old Louisville Visitors Center, a Louisville Police Substation and an outdoor amphitheater that stays active all summer long.
Enjoy live theater, right outside your door!
Just about every night from May 27, 2026 until August 9, 2026, you can see an outdoor performance of a Shakespeare play. This is the 66th anniversary season of the Kentucky Shakespeare Festival in Central Park, and this year’s performances are of As You Like It, Antony and Cleopatra, and The Two Gentlemen of Verona.
There are also performances of Romeo & Juliet by Kentucky Shakespeare’s Globe Players (high school students), and Shakespeare in Dance: Hamlet & Ophelia by the Louisville Ballet.
