Before Your Stay

Requirements

• All guests must be 21 and over. We do not allow children to stay at the inn.
• We do not allow pets of any size.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Due to high demand, rates and policies differ for major events. These events vary each year, but typically include:

• Thunder Over Louisville
• Kentucky Derby
• ISCO Championship Golf Tournament
• Bourbon and Beyond
• Louder than Life
• St. James Court Art Show

ROOM RATES

• All rates are for double occupancy.
• While we publish our standard rates on the website, rates are subject to increase during special events due to high demand.
• For the best available rate, book directly on our website. Third-party platforms (e.g., Booking.com, Expedia, Priceline) typically have higher rates due to additional fees. See our Best Rate Guarantee.

SINGLE RESERVATIONS

• Weekend reservations have a two-night minimum stay (three nights during special events).
• All single reservations are non-transferable. You cannot transfer or assign a single reservation in your name to another individual or party under any circumstances. You must show a valid photo ID when you check in that matches the name on the reservation.
• If more than one room is reserved under a single name, each guest must provide their own identification when checking in.

Deposits and Payments

• If your stay is not during a special event, we can usually accommodate one additional person (maximum of three guests) for an extra $55 per night. Special events are limited to double occupancy.
• If your stay is not during a special event, and you book more than seven days in advance, the deposit is 50% of your total stay. If you’re only staying one night, it’s 100% of your total stay.
• The remaining 50% of your stay is automatically billed to the credit card on file seven days prior to your arrival.
• If your stay is during a special event, the deposit is 100% of your stay and the entire amount is non-refundable.

GROUP RESERVATIONS

• Any reservation of three or more rooms is considered a Group Reservation.
• Group Reservations have a two-night minimum stay (three nights during special events).
• Groups are limited to a maximum of two guests per suite.
• A 100% deposit is required at the time of booking for all Group Reservations.
• We might require that you book one of our Group Packages to reserve:
  • – All 3 suites in the Carriage House
  • – All 5 suites in the Mansion
  • – All 8 suites in the Property

TOURS

• All Bourbon Trail Tours, Ghost Tours, and Architectural Tours are non-refundable and non-transferable.

CANCELLATIONS

• We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations.
• If you must cancel a reservation, please call us at (502) 813-1137 as soon as possible. Because we only have eight rooms, cancellations have a significant impact on our business, and therefore we have a strict cancellation policy.
• All Special Event reservations are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled or modified.
• If you cancel a single reservation less than 7 days prior to your arrival, you forfeit the entire amount of your stay.
• If you cancel between 7 and 14 days before arrival, your deposit is non-refundable. If we cannot rebook the room, we will also charge the remaining 50%.
• If you cancel a Group Reservation less than 60 days prior to your scheduled arrival, we will allow you to reschedule the group to a different date only once. Otherwise, you forfeit the entire amount of your stay.
• Single reservations cancelled more than 14 days prior to arrival and Group Reservations cancelled more than 60 days in advance are entitled to a refund of the room deposit minus a $75 per-room cancellation fee plus applicable taxes and service charges.
• All refunds are made to the same credit card used for payment and take approximately 10 to 14 days to process. If the credit card is no longer valid, you will be issued a credit in the form of a Gift Certificate to the Louisville Bourbon Inn that must be redeemed within one year of the issue date.
• If you cancel a custom event or wedding, the cancellation fees are clearly described in the corresponding contract.

Taxes and Service Charges

• We are required by law to charge 6% sales tax, 9% City Tourism Tax, and 1% State Transient Room Tax for a total of 16% in taxes.
• A 3% Service Charge applies to all reservations to cover credit card processing fees.

During Your Stay

Check-In Time

• Check-in time is from 3 pm to 6 pm Eastern Time. If you require late check-in, please let us know and we can provide you with self check-in instructions.
• Early check-in may be available for an additional fee, depending on room availability and housekeeping schedules. If you need early check-in, please let us know before you arrive. The earliest we can check anybody in is Noon. If you want to check in before 3 p.m., there is a $25 per hour early check-in fee. There’s no charge to drop off your bags and come back at 3 p.m. to check-in.
• We really enjoy greeting our guests personally and helping them get settled in. However, depending on your arrival time and our weekend schedule, guests checking in on Saturday or Sunday may be provided with self check-in instructions. Self check-in is simple and convenient, and detailed instructions will be sent prior to arrival. Whether we greet you in person or welcome you remotely, we’ll make sure you have everything you need for a comfortable start to your stay.

Check-Out Time

• Check-out time is no later than 11 am Eastern Time.
• We understand that travel plans don’t always follow a perfect schedule. As such, we offer late check-out options when availability permits, but you must notify us at least 24 hours before your checkout:
  • Check-out by 12:00 PM – Complimentary, upon request and subject to availability.
  • Check-out between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – $25 late check-out fee.
  • Check-out between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM – $50 late check-out fee.
  • After 2:00 PM – A full additional night’s rate may apply.

Visitors and Registereed Guests

• We are a private, intimate bed and breakfast, and we work hard to create a peaceful, comfortable experience for every guest. For the privacy, comfort, and safety of everyone staying with us, access to the Inn, guest rooms, suites, porches, patios, common areas, and grounds is limited to registered overnight guests only. Please do not invite or bring additional visitors, friends, family members, dates, or other outside guests back to the property without prior approval from management. 
• Unauthorized visitors may result in additional charges and/or termination of the reservation without refund.

Quiet Hours

• To preserve the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere our guests value, we kindly observe Quiet Hours from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM daily.
• During these hours, we respectfully ask that guests:
  • Keep voices and television volumes low, especially in shared spaces and hallways.
  • Avoid loud music, speaker use, or gatherings that could disturb others.
  • Close doors softly and minimize noise on staircases and near guest room doors.
• Our historic inn is a place of rest and charm. Your courtesy ensures that every guest enjoys the tranquility and comfort that make the Louisville Bourbon Inn so special. Thank you for being a thoughtful part of our community of guests!

Smoking

• Smoking is prohibited indoors and permitted only in designated outdoor areas.
• You will be charged a $250 fee if you smoke indoors. There are no exceptions to this rule!

Candles, Incense & Fireworks

• Due to the historic nature of our building, and for the safety and comfort of our guests, we do not allow you to burn candles or incense in any of our guest rooms.
• The fireplace in your suite is ornamental and is not functional. Please do not light a fire in the fireplace.
• Most fireworks are illegal in Louisville-Jefferson County, including anything with a label that indicates “explosive”, “emits flaming pellets”, “flaming balls”, “firecracker” or “rocket.” 

Alcoholic Beverages

The Louisville Bourbon Inn holds a license to sell alcoholic beverages to paid and registered overnight guests only. State law strictly prohibits guests from bringing in and consuming outside alcohol. Any alcohol that you consume must be purchased from the Inn, and the Inn must purchase it from licensed wholesalers or distributors.

Wedding Pictures

There is a $250 fee to have professional or wedding pictures taken on the premises. No professional or wedding pictures can be taken without permission from the owners of the Louisville Bourbon Inn.

Breakfast

We serve a gourmet breakfast every day. Please notify us when you make your reservation, or at least 24 hours prior to your arrival, if you have special dietary needs.

Outdoor Balconies

• One of the features guests enjoy most about the Grand Derby Suite and Kentucky Sunrise Suite is each suite’s private outdoor balcony. Please be aware that the balconies may present potential hazards, including floor-level gutters, narrow doorways, and brick walls. Use caution when entering, exiting, and enjoying the balcony.
• In the Old Fashioned Suite, please obey the sign and do not step outside onto the masonry balustrade. It is not a balcony.
