Grand Derby Suite

The Grand Derby Suite at the Louisville Bourbon Inn was originally designed to be the master suite of the mansion, and you get the sense that this suite is genuinely unforgettable as soon as you step inside.  You’ll have to resist the urge to immediately crawl under the covers of the incredibly comfortable king-sized sleigh bed featured in the center of the room. An ornamental fireplace that’s built into one of the exterior rounded chimneys gives the bedroom its interesting shape. The fireplace mantel is flanked by large windows that begin just above the original hardwood floors and span almost to the top of the 14-foot ceilings. A table, books and several large overstuffed chairs sit on top of a very large oriental rug and provide a sitting or reading area in front of the fireplace. It’s the perfect place to sip a bourbon, read a book or gaze out the windows at the view of Louisville’s Central Park.

There’s plenty of space for your luggage in the large walk-in closet. The luxurious bathroom has original marble walls and tile throughout. Relax and have a long soak in the large spa-tub, or rinse off in the shower if you’re in more of a hurry. Best of all, the Grand Derby Suite has a private covered balcony and a view of Louisville’s Central Park from the second story of the Mansion.

With so much room and so many special features, the Grand Derby Suite is favored by first-time and repeat guests. If you have your heart set on staying in this luxurious suite,  you might want to reserve it early. The Grand Derby Suite is our most popular room, and it’s occupied more nights during the year than any other suite.
